Constructing a "Rain Water Harvesting Tank"

The following photos show the the step-by-step process of constructing one water tank.
The photos are in order from left to right.

Preparing the foundation Pouring and smoothing the concrete baseCreating the shape of the tank using BRC wire, binding wire and chicken wire After the shape is formed, it is covered with a polythene sheet so the inner layers of plaster can be supportedSpreading and smoothing the inner layers of plaster While constructing the roof of the tank, wood is used to create just the right "cone" shape. After the roof is hard and dry, the wood is removed through a small hole After creating the roof and allowing the inner layers of plaster to harden, the polythene tarp is removed and two layers of plaster are applied to the outside Seen on the right is Mr. Philimon, the head contractor for the water tanks KADERES constructs. He is describing the process of how the two outer layers of plaster are smoothed and shaped The gutters, which collect the rain water, can be seen on the left side of the roof This water tank will be provide clean and easily accessible water to hundreds of students at Ndama Primary School
